The Song of the caged Bird

Dr.Sudhansu Dash

She sings for her and listens to the words
In her own notation
Travelling day and night.
Somewhere to somewhere inside the cage
She sells her soul for a bed at home
As gracefully as she can manage.
The castle’s shadow falls in darkness
In an undecided mystic energy.
Chins raise and shiver eyes emotionless
Blood runs in the weathered veins
In a wild appearance.
The pale face raised by red lines
Containing two balls of liquid gold
Someone clears the throat behind.
She is startled but pleased by her thoughtfulness
To betray the uncaring emotions.
Let not pretend to like each other
The eyes fierce and shine like the sun
But she is the ocean
Never given the way
Before anyone leaves the place.
She glares at him over her shoulder and sighs
What the stranger of her future has to say
An hour after living with her?
The mouth is sought
Leaves without another word
Everybody in the city seem wild
Drawing blood without a second thought
She gave her soul and loved in misery
But had a great pleasure with someone
She loved un-bodily.
The sun is not necessary for the ocean

But the ocean is still a beautiful sight.
