Two  drops   of unnamed tears

Dr Sudhansu Dash

The sun sets
In the depth of darkness
The new- come bride inside the cottage
Looks with two waiting eyes
The return of her own man.
Time knows
When she sleeps
Burring her face under a torn cloth
Carrying endless pain inside
The pains of a wounded bird.
The unheard wounds of the late night
Vibrates her hidden body and mind
She opens the door in sleepy eyes
With two unstable feet.
The smell of alcohol comes from
The mouth of her man
She accepts with an unassuming fear
But a resignining look settled on her empty eyes
Shivering with wordless pain and fear.
A word trying to escape the two lips
melts down before consolidating its strength.
The morning comes before testing her own luck.
She extends her intimacy again
Her man returns again to bridge the confidence
Among a thousand and one promises
Leaving her to  gather her broken remains
In two drops of unnamed tears.
