THE MOMENT BEFORE DEATH

Dr,Sudhansu Dash

She comes with her unhaunted beauty
Without a noise
Her silent footsteps settle on me
Whispering to my ears
“I have come
Do not worry my absence
You are not mine but I am yours”
Every moment I am dying for my intimate Death
The smell it has left behind it
The impression you have sketched in my life
I am searching your enlightened darkness
In all the darkest darkness of the earth
You flashed back in a moment
Leaving your mysterious presence
With a silent promise to return again
In the wings of a dove
Or in the darkness of my shadow.
I sit at my window with my two trusting eyes
Not to be betrayed

 By your indefinite tomorrows.
I am gathering all the lights of thousands of suns
But your darkness is brighter
To insult all lights.
So sweet you are in your taste
So fragrant you are in your smell
So delicate in your approch
I am afraid
Whether you will come or not
To sleep me in your warm bosom again
In that moment of celebration?
(In memory of a mild heart stroke the night before)
